Do I need a credit card?
While some car rental companies will accept a Visa or Mastercard debit card, this is not guaranteed – in fact many providers require a credit card issued in the name of the primary driver. If you can’t arrange a credit card in the main driver’s name you will need to contact your chosen car rental provider and check if they will allow a debit card instead.
Can I pick up a rental car directly at the airport?
Yes, rental cars can be picked up at many of Hawaii’s airports. Depending on the location your car will be waiting for you or brought to you on your arrival.
Should I get insurance?
Yes, we recommend you get insurance to cover the excess on your rental which by default can be considerable. Getting insurance ahead of time instead of at the car rental desk will usually get you a much better rate.
